Tuesday May 21, for the Oasis Day 2024, the afternoon event ANIMALIA.

ANIMALIA will consist of two parts: “Actors in the Oasis” and the talk on Wildlife curated by Francesca Vercillo, head of the regional Wildlife Rescue Center WildUmbria.

THE EVENT

On the occasion of Oasis Day 2024, Tuesday, May 21, at the Wwf Oasis La Malcontenta e il Lupo it will be possible to participate in the first event called “Actors in the Oasis”.
The Wwf Oasis opens up to actors. Through acting in its many forms and techniques, there will be discussions about biodiversity and wildlife.

In this first event of “Actors in the Oasis” it will be possible to attend “AN ECOLOGICAL FAIRYTALE”, a theatrical reading by Isola di Confine, directed by Valerio Apice.

At the opening of Oasis Day 2024, at 5:00 pm, and just before “An Ecological Fairytale”, there will be a talk by Francesca Vercillo, where she will discuss the regional WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER WildUmbria.

The talk will cover the activities of the Rescue Center and how to behave in case a citizen encounters a wild animal that is injured or in difficulty.

The WWF Oasis is a protected area that includes various habitats of naturalistic value, with very diverse environments rich in biodiversity: typical wetland environments, naturally evolving woods, phenomena of climatic inversion, ecosystems that host flora and fauna of considerable interest, including the abundant presence of wild orchids.

ENVIRONMENT

HIGHLIGHTS

The event has limited spots and allows a maximum of 30 participants.
To participate you must book using the BOOK button which redirects to the WWF website.
Access to the facility where the course will be held involves the presence of stairs.
Throughout the entire area of the nature reserve it is not allowed to bring dogs (even on a leash) or other pets.

WildUmbria

We are an Association founded in 2015 by a group of young enthusiasts with extensive professional experience in zoology and veterinary medicine. Our mission is to promote environmental and wildlife management in Umbria, collaborating with public and private entities, citizens, and other associations.

Since 2017, we have been granted by the Umbria Region the service of rescuing injured or distressed wildlife throughout the region, with 24/7 availability, seven days a week.

Border Island

The Teatro Laboratorio Isola di Confine is directed by Valerio Apice and Giulia Castellani. It is based in Umbria and carries out its activities locally and nationally.

Valerio Apice is an actor, author, director, poet, and theater educator. Since 1997 he has worked on the Pulcinella mask, between tradition and innovation.

Giulia Castellani is an actress and theater educator. She holds a PhD in performing arts and a degree in Educational Sciences.

HOW TO GET THERE

For those coming from the North or South, take the Ponterio exit from the E-45 highway, then continue towards Orvieto (SS448), and turn following the signs for Porchiano - Asproli.

If your GPS tries to take you on gravel or dirt roads, do not take them. Always follow only the main paved road and the road signs indicating Porchiano and Asproli.
