THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

On the occasion of the WWF Oasis Days 2024 event, on Sunday, May 19 at the WWF-affiliated Oasis La Malcontenta e il Lupo, the photography workshop PHOTOGRAPHY, THINKING IN IMAGES - the nature reportage will be held.

ENVIRONMENT

The WWF Oasis is a protected area that includes various habitats of naturalistic value, with very diverse environments rich in biodiversity: typical wetland environments, naturally evolving woods, phenomena of climatic inversion, ecosystems that host flora and fauna of considerable interest, including the abundant presence of wild orchids.

THE WORKSHOP

On the occasion of the Oasis Day 2024 at the WWF Oasis La Malcontenta e il Lupo, it will be possible to spend a day discovering the precious biodiversity present within the area. We will spend the day alternating between classroom sessions, dedicated to technique and the correct behaviors to adopt in nature, and excursions in the Oasis. The Workshop will be led by Emanuele Valentini, photographer and WWF operator.

WHO IT IS FOR

The workshop is open to everyone. Both owners of cameras and those who use their smartphones as their main tool can participate.

HIGHLIGHTED

The masterclass has limited places and allows a maximum of 18 participants.
To participate it is necessary to book using the BOOK button which redirects to the WWF website.
Access to the facility where the course will be held involves the presence of stairs. The excursion in the woods will take place off the trail.
Throughout the entire area of the nature reserve it is not allowed to bring dogs (even on a leash) or other pets.

Emanuele Valentini

I am Emanuele Valentini, I am 47 years old and my adventure with WWF began in 1989. My first work collaboration dates back to 1995 and the following year I became a WWF Ranger.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to collaborate with other organizations and with the Maremma Regional Park, but my favorite place has always been, and still is, the Burano Lake Oasis. I have had many other work experiences but my thoughts were always there, until I decided to come back home.
Today I work and collaborate with the WWF Italy Foundation at the WWF Nature Reserves and Oases of Lake Burano and Lagoon of

Orbetello. My passions are birdwatching and photography.

2:30 PM RESUMPTION OF ACTIVITIES WITH AN EXCURSION TO THE STREAM ON A PHOTO HUNT - Total length of the route: 3 kilometers (1.5 km outbound, 1.5 km return).

Useful information

MANDATORY CLOTHING

TREKKING SHOES, WATER BOTTLE, WATER, CAP, WATERPROOF WINDBREAKER JACKET.

The hike presents the usual difficulties that can be encountered during a walk in the woods; maximum attention is recommended during the walk.

THE EXPERIENCE INVOLVES WALKING IN THE WOODS OFF THE TRAIL AND ON VERY STEEP TERRAIN. IN THE FINAL PART OF THE ROUTE, THE SLOPE INCREASES AND PARTICULAR CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN. YOU WILL ALSO PASS THROUGH AREAS WITH TALL GRASS.

THE ORGANIZERS DO NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR OTHER ITEMS. FOR THE SAKE OF CLEAR TRANSPARENCY, BY REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT, PARTICIPANTS RELEASE THE ORGANIZERS FROM ALL LIABILITY AND AUTHORIZE THE USE OF IMAGES TAKEN DURING THE EVENT FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES OF THE WWF OASIS.

HOW TO GET THERE

For those coming from the North or South, take the Ponterio exit from the E-45 highway, then continue towards Orvieto (SS448), and turn following the signs for Porchiano - Asproli.

If your navigator tries to take you on gravel or dirt roads, do not take them. Always and only follow the main paved road and the road signs indicating Porchiano and Asproli.
