THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

On the occasion of the WWF Oasis Days 2024 event, the photography workshop THE PHOTOGRAPHY, THINKING BY IMAGES - nature reportage will be held on Sunday 19 May at the WWF affiliated Oasis La Malcontenta e il Lupo.

ENVIRONMENT

The WWF Oasis is a protected area that includes various habitats of naturalistic value. It is home to a wide variety of environments rich in biodiversity: typical wetland environments, naturally evolving forests, climatic inversion phenomena, ecosystems that host flora and fauna of considerable interest, including the abundant presence of wild orchids.

THE WORKSHOP

On the occasion of Oasis Day 2024 at the WWF La Malcontenta e il Lupo Oasis it will be possible to spend a day discovering the precious biodiversity present in the area. We will spend the day alternating moments in the classroom, dedicated to the technique and correct behaviour to adopt in nature, and excursions in the Oasis. The workshop will be held by Emanuele Valentini, photographer and operator for the WWF. The theme of the day will be:

TO WHOM IT IS TARGETED

The workshop is open to everyone. Both camera owners and those who use their smartphone as their main tool can participate.

IN EVIDENZA

The masterclass is limited to a maximum of 18 participants.
To participate it is necessary to book using the BOOKING button that links to the WWF website.
Access to the building where the course will be held requires stairs. The hike in the forest will be done off-trail.
In the entire nature reserve area it is not possible to introduce dogs (even on a leash) or other pets.

Emanuele Valentini

I am Emanuele Valentini, I am 47 years old and my adventure in the WWF started in 1989. My first working collaboration dates back to 1995 and the following year I became a WWF Guard. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with other organisations and with the Maremma Regional Park, but my favourite place has always been, and still is, the Lake Burano Oasis. I had many other work experiences but my thoughts were always there until I decided to return home. Today I work and collaborate with the WWF Italy Foundation at the Nature Reserves and WWF Oasis Lake Burano and Orbetello Lagoon. My passions are birdwatching and photography.

2.30 P.M. RESUMPTION OF ACTIVITIES WITH EXCURSION TO THE RIVER IN SEARCH OF PHOTOGRAPHS - Total length of the route: 3 kilometres (1.5 km outward, 1.5 km return).

6 P.M. END OF ACTIVITY

Useful information

COMPULSORY CLOTHING

HIKING SHOES, WATER BOTTLE, HAT, WINDBREAKER WATERPROOF JACKET.

THE EXCURSION PRESENTS THE NORMAL DIFFICULTIES THAT CAN BE FOUND DURING A WALK IN A FOREST, THE UTMOST CARE IS RECOMMENDED DURING THE WALK.

THE EXPERIENCE INVOLVES WALKING IN THE FOREST OFF THE TRAIL AND ON STEEP TERRAIN. IN THE FINAL PART OF THE WALK THE GRADIENT INCREASES AND PARTICULAR CAUTION SHOULD BE EXERCISED. YOU WILL ALSO CROSS AREAS WITH HIGH GRASS.

HOW TO GET THERE

If you are coming from the north or south, take the Ponterio exit off the E-45 state road, then continue in the direction of Orvieto (SS448), and turn following the signs for Porchiano - Asproli.

If your navigator tries to lead you onto gravel or dirt roads, do not take them. Always and only follow the main paved road and the road signs indicating Porchiano and Asproli.
