Convegno Nazionale “Protected Areas and Conservation”

Anche l’Oasi Wwf La Malcontenta e il Lupo ha partecipato alla seconda edizione del Convegno Nazionale “Protected Areas and Conservation”, evento organizzato da WWF Italia che ha avuto luogo nella Tenuta presidenziale di Castelporziano dal 2 al 4 aprile.

In questa occasione si sono confrontati esperti del mondo della ricerca, delle associazioni e delle istituzioni, tra cui il Ministro dell’Ambiente Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. Presenti anche il Capo servizio della Tenuta Presidenziale Giulia Bonella e il Presidente del WWF Italia Luciano Di Tizio, nonché diversi esponenti di partiti politici.

Le aree protette, come le Oasi Wwf, sono fondamentali per raggiungere il 30% di territorio nazionale protetto a terra e a mare entro il 2030, come previsto dalla strategia nazionale ed europea sulla biodiversità. I vari partecipanti al Convegno si sono confrontati sulle strategie per il raggiungimento dell’obiettivo del 2030 e sulla questione della gestione delle aree protette attuali e future. Si è parlato inoltre anche dell’importanza di dotare le aree protette di risorse umane ed economiche adeguate, affinché il sistema sia efficace e la conservazione della natura venga effettuata al meglio. Arrivare ad un’armonia tra uomo e natura è infatti essenziale per il bene e la salute di tutti. In queste aree si fa ricerca scientifica, divulgazione dei temi ambientali e si offrono possibilità di sviluppo economico per le popolazioni locali.

The WWF La Malcontenta Oasis and the Wolf also participated in the second edition of the National Conference ‘Protected Areas and Conservation’, an event organised by WWF Italy that took place at the Castelporziano Presidential Estate from 2 to 4 April.

Experts from the world of research, associations and institutions, including the Minister of the Environment Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, confronted each other on this occasion. Also present were the Head of Service of the Presidential Estate Giulia Bonella and WWF Italy President Luciano Di Tizio, as well as several representatives of political parties.

Protected areas, such as the WWF Oases, are fundamental to reach 30% of the national territory protected on land and sea by 2030, as envisaged by the national and European biodiversity strategies. The various participants at the conference discussed strategies for reaching the 2030 target and the issue of the management of current and future protected areas. Also discussed was the importance of providing protected areas with adequate human and economic resources, so that the system is effective and nature conservation is carried out in the best possible way. Achieving harmony between man and nature is indeed essential for the good and health of all. In these areas, scientific research is carried out, environmental issues are divulged and economic development opportunities are offered to local populations.
